What should I do to replace my old door with the new one?

Don’t attempt to replace and dismantle the garage door on your own. Garage doors are one of the largest equipment in the house. It may be rather dangerous to do it your own. Instead, look for the right design based on your requirement and budget and choose the right technician to do the job.

Can I replace an automatic door opener on my own?

We highly recommend that you let our experts do it for you. There are some delicate parts in the opener that requires proper handling. Our experts are well trained for the job ensuring quality performance of the product. They will replace your old door opener in just few hours.

Will a door opener stop working if the sensors are removed?

The infrared sensors (also emitters) of garage doors are not one of the door operator or opener components that enable door movement. As such, removing them may not affect the operation of a door. However, removing them is tantamount to stripping off the safety feature of a door opener.

What are the most important opener accessories?

Ideally, the number of remote controls should match the number of cars that you have. It is also possible to give each family member who uses the cars a personal remote. It is a good idea to keep a spare one too. A wall-mounted button and a wireless keypad will enable you to operate the door without the clicker from the inside and the outside respectively. A battery backup unit eliminates the need for opening and closing the door manually in case of a power outage.

How do I prevent the kids from messing with the opener?

You need to tell them why they should not to play around the garage door or touch it. Make sure that the wall button and the wireless keypad are mounted at least five feet above the floor so that young children cannot reach them and use them. Keep all remote controls in places where the kids cannot reach them and explain that they are not toys.

How do I know if the weather seals need changing?

The simplest way to find out is to close the garage door while there is plenty of ambient light outside and turn off the lights inside the garage. If you see light coming through the sides of the door, then you will need to install new weather seals. The vinyl ones do an excellent job while being highly durable.
